Type Locality and Naming
In the Pistalitau Mountains, N. Nuratau ridge. O.I. Sergun'kova, 1965 (457, p.127-128). Stratotype in the section of the Pistalitau Mountains.
Synonym: Pistalitau Suite, Писталитасуская св.
Lithology and Thickness
Dark and dark-gray thin- and medium-bedded, locally banded, clastic-detrital, nodular, partially aphanitic limestones with rare layers of calcareous sandstones.
According to A., thickness 592m; According to P.N. Podkopaev (1961f.), - 250m, According to the data of N.V. Cherkashenko, Yu.N. Apekina, et al. (1983f.), the thickness of the suite varies from 150 to 250 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies conformably on the Uchkulach Fm, has facially sliding lateral relationships with the Khanbandytay Fm
Upper contact
It is overlain in the Pistalitau Mountains conformably by the Kolsuyuk Fm, in the Khanbandytay Mountains by the Ment Fm.
Regional extent
Northern Nuratau ridge, Pistalitau Mountains, Khanbandytay. Yu.N. Apekina et al. (1981f.) part of the Pistalitau Fm (the stromatoporoid-amphiporoid horizon, according P.N. Podkopaev) is distinguished as the Jizak Fm, and only the "tabulate horizon" is attributed to the Pistalitau Fm according to P.N. Podkopaev (1961f.). Z.S. Rumyantseva et al. (1982f.) consider the Pistalitau Fm and Khanbandytau Fm are age analogs.

Fossils
Stromatoporoids predominate in the composition of organic remains, hence the deposits were initially called the stromatoporoid formation. Contains stromatoporoids Amphipora ramosa Phill., Actinostroma">Actinostroma clathratum Nich., Stachyodes costulata Lec., S. gracilis var. kuznetskensis Yavor.; tabulates - Thamnopora cervicornis Blain., Scoliopora denticulata M. Edw. et Haime, Alveolitella fecunda Salle, A. polenovi Peetz., Caliapora battersbyi M. Edwards et Haime, Pachycanalicula karcevae Dubat.; rugosans Macgea cf. murchisoni Soshk., Stringophyllum difficile Soshk., Campophyllum litvinovitschae Soshk.; brachiopods - Stringocephalus burtini Defr., Bornhardtina uncitoides Schulz, Uncytes griphus Schloth., Atrypa desquamata Sow. and others; foraminifera - Archaesphaera minima Sul., Radiosphaera panderoza Reitl., Parathurammina subovata N.
